19/12/15 | THE FALLEN ANGEL SHOW | |
Time: 7:30pm.
http://www.blackswanyork.com PRESS REVIEWS… Full of symbolism, fairytale and metaphor, The Fallen Angel Show offers us a modern myth, cloaked in music, storytelling, visual projection, with a bit of dance, drama and movement blended in. The Fallen Angel Show has the feel of a rock-opera, drawing upon folk, progressive rock, with a retro sixties and seventies core, but also pulling in plenty of other influences, ideas, and impulses to offer up a full-hearted, superbly played bit of musical theatre. Its virtue lies in a courage to blend styles, especially traditional and contemporary and to mix genres right in front of us.I enjoyed and was surprised by this very different musical experience. It is well worth seeing. Vesper Walk exude a collective charisma that delivered a magical hour of musical theatre. Paul Levy, Fringe Review Charming with strong, original musical ideas, laced with a smidgeon of Kate Bush, some lovely harmonies and a storyline that challenges the star-making system and show business and society’s obsessions with youth and beauty. Rob Adams, The Herald AUDIENCE REVIEWS… Lynda@Fringe First show at the Fringe and what a way to kick off the weekend! The Fallen Angel is clever, engaging storytellling through catchy songs. One of which is seriously (and pleasantly) stuck in my head. Definitely an hour well spent. Dean Guy Excellent show – original music with influences from people that you yourself will recognise. And a great storyline throughout backed up with great harmonising vocals. Great to know that little gems can still be found. |
