MEDIA QUOTES
Median Reviews
Grabbed us from beat one….this act had real stage presence.
Not Quite Music Journalism
Their gigs have been highlights for me this year – I definitely wanted a way to hear their songs again and again.
The Herald
Strong original musical ideas.
Fringe Review
A courage to blend styles and to mix genres right in front of us.… breathtaking, collaborative keyboards…. a huge degree of tightness of focus. Their style has its own quality – a uniqueness that is happy to be playful, eloquent, dark, esoteric…prepared to risk both light and playful as well as deep and probing. Well worth seeing, Vesper Walk exude a collective charisma that delivered a magical hour of musical theatre.
York Little Festival of Live Music
Powerful, thought-provoking, surreal.
York Calling
You are completely immersed in the world Vesper Walk has created. The pure musical ability of the performers, its range of styles and the fact that there really isn’t anything remotely like it coming out of York at the moment means getting a hold of this album, and looking into everything else Vesper Walk is putting out is a must for anyone. It will open your mind.
Mad Alice Records
An incredible four handed piano concerto that not only stands out but tells a story with tone alone. Each track of the album is an epic. The mixture of theatre, classical and modern themes is incredible. This York band really knocks it out of the ballpark. [The album] is skilful, contemporary and well composed.
Aural Aggravation
More theatre than the apollo…extremely accomplished…they’re high on drama and theatricality, both in terms of performance and presentation, and the music itself. It’s hard not to be impressed by their composure, the way they command the audience’s attention, and they really do know how to entertain.

Lynda@Fringe – Fallen Angel Show
First show at the Fringe and what a way to kick off the weekend! The Fallen Angel is clever, engaging storytellling through catchy songs. One of which is seriously (and pleasantly) stuck in my head. Definitely an hour well spent.
Excellent show – original music with influences from people that you yourself will recognise. And a great storyline throughout backed up with great harmonising vocals. Great to know that little gems can still be found.
